Make your holidays merry and bright in Lake Placid this December 12–14, 2025, as the beloved Holiday Village Stroll returns for another three-day celebration that transforms Main Street into a snow-globe scene of twinkling lights, seasonal music, and pure winter magic.

Designed for families, couples, and anyone who loves a good dose of small-town cheer, the Stroll brings together skating, running, crafting, Santa sightings, live music, and big community energy.

Below is everything you need to know to plan your weekend — and support the local businesses that make Lake Placid shine.

Scavenger hunt fun
While wandering Main Street, keep your eyes peeled for hidden holiday symbols in participating shop windows. Pick up an entry form from the Visitor’s Bureau or fill one out online for a chance to win prizes. Completed forms can be dropped in Santa’s mailbox at Mid’s Park — a perfect stop while you shop and support local retailers.

Lake Placid storefronts go all-in for the season, decking their windows with whimsical, over-the-top holiday joy. Cast your vote for your favorite display December 12–14. The winner receives a trophy and bragging rights, but you get a festive stroll featuring creative décor.

Lace up and glide into the Stroll weekend with an evening skating party at the legendary Olympic Center.

Whether you’re a seasoned skater or a wobbly beginner, this festive ice session sets the tone for a magical weekend.

Saturday’s festive lineup.

Jingle Bell Run in the morning
Nothing says “holiday spirit” like a Main Street fun run with bells on — literally. The Jingle Bell Run is a cheerful way to start your Saturday and a great excuse to warm up afterward with cocoa from a local café.

Craftmaking sessions
Pop into one of the crafting events throughout the village. These hands-on activities are perfect for families and an excellent opportunity to slow down, get creative, and bring home a handmade keepsake.

Visit from Santa & photos
Santa makes several appearances on Saturday, greeting kids and families for photos and plenty of “ho ho ho’s.” Bring your wish lists — and your camera.

Tree lighting & celebration at Mid’s Park (5 pm)
When dusk settles over Mirror Lake, head to Mid’s Park for the official tree lighting. Expect live music, holiday cheer, and that unmistakable moment when Main Street feels like a classic postcard come to life.

Santa Ski at Whiteface
Catch Santa (and dozens of Santa look-alikes) carving turns at Whiteface Mountain. If you love skiing and festive chaos, this one is pure joy.

Santa Claus arrives in Lake Placid. — Everyone is thrilled to see Santa.

Kris Kringle Caravan (4 pm)
Wrap up the weekend with this whimsical parade through town — a moving burst of color, characters, and holiday celebration that sends the Stroll out on a high note.
