Discover the Best Events in the Adirondacks This Weekend
Are you ready for Thanksgiving? Have you purchased your turkey, cranberries, green beans, and potatoes? Well, before and after the feast is served, there are plenty of amazing things to do this weekend in the ADK.
If you’re a cinema enthusiast, there are some great films this week in the ADK. If you live in a large metropolitan area, access to great films may not be an issue. Here in the ADK, we don’t have megaplexes showing every top film 24-7.
We’re grateful for all the wonderful independent theaters (we’re looking at you, Indian Lake Theater and The Strand in Old Forge, to name two) and across the Adirondack Park for bringing the best in cinema to the wilderness. Not all are open year-round, but these fiesty theaters do their best to bring great films to ADK audiences.
And don’t forget the drive-ins (Millennials and Gen-Z, ask your elders about the joy of drive-ins).
Also happening this weekend, William Shatner returns to the Star Trek tour in Ticonderoga and the annual visit by the Canadian Pacific Railway Holiday Train, which will roll into stations along Lake Champlain on the day before Thanksgiving.
Looking ahead, check out our roundup of Adirondack Turkey Trots. There is no better way to justify that second slice of pie and feel superior to your friends and relatives than walking, trotting or running in an Adirondack Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day.
