2025 Great Adirondack Birding Celebration at Paul Smiths

In 2025, the Great Adirondack Birding Celebration (GABC) invites birders of all skill levels to explore the region's beautiful and diverse landscapes and connect with its birds and wildlife.
The Adirondacks, a vast six-million-acre wilderness in Upstate New York, offer some of the most spectacular natural scenery in the Northeast.
As the southernmost extension of the great northern boreal forest, this area showcases dense spruce-fir woodlands, remote bogs, and rugged mountain peaks, creating a unique combination of north and temperate ecosystems.
This diversity makes the Adirondacks a critical breeding ground for many boreal bird species typically found much farther north. Notable species include Bicknell’s Thrush, Canada Jay, Black-backed Woodpecker, and Boreal Chickadee.
