Mark your calendar for the annual Winter Carnival in Lake George. The 2026 event takes place over five weekends — February 6 to March 8/

Each weekend, Lake George hosts fun-filled events and activities that are sure to help everyone overcome the winter blues.

The 1st Annual Lake George Winter Carnival was held in 1961. Now, over a half-century later, this celebration of all the great Adirondack wintertime outdoor activities continues with five activity-packed weekends.

Lake George’s Winter Carnival outhouse races are a popular feature that allows competitors to get very creative.

Since its beginnings, the event has expanded the event to include a wide variety of winter diversions, including:

• Motorcycle, ATV and car races across the ice (weather permitting)

• Snowman-building contests

• Polar plunges

• Doggie Talent Contests

• The always popular outhouse Races

• Fireworks displays

• Chili, BBQ, chowder and wing cook-offs

• S’mores, Make Your Own Sundaes, and a Hot Chocolate bar

• Keg and Frying Pan Toss Contests

• Horse-drawn Sleigh Rides

• Pony Rides for Lil’ ADKers
