The 2025 Adirondack Balloon Festival is set to take place from September 18 to 21 in Glens Falls, New York. This free event is famous for being one of the most iconic and visually stunning festivals in the northeastern United States, attracting thousands of visitors each September.
The Festival features a diverse collection of hot air balloons, including traditional round designs as well as uniquely shaped balloons. Attendees can enjoy the sight of these vibrant balloons as they launch into the sky, showcasing a stunning array of colors and decorations.
Balloons take flight multiple times during the Festival.

Stunning balloons take flight in Queensbury.
Each day, balloons will ascend at least twice: once in the early morning hours and again around 5:30 PM.
The first night of the festival starts in Crandall Park on Glen Street on Thursday, September 18. On Thursday and Saturday evenings, a "Moonglow" event will take place at 7:45 PM, featuring up to 50 balloons.
The Moonglow is a stationary display of select balloons, located at the airport. This event features a musically synchronized balloon show with inflations, but the balloons do not fly during the Moonglow.
Insider tip: Hot air balloon flights are highly dependent on weather conditions. Lighter, more stable winds are ideal for flights, which usually occur early in the morning. Keep an eye on the weather report to determine the best time to attend.
