The 2025 Adirondack Harvest Festival will be held on Saturday, September 20, from Noon to 5 pm at the Essex County Fairgrounds in Westport, NY.
This year's theme is “Seeds & Grains.” Festival workshops and demonstrations will feature connections to the world of seeds and grains, but we welcome the entire spectrum of harvests from the Adirondacks throughout the festival.

The Adirondack Harvest Festival is free to attend; no tickets required. The Essex County Fairgrounds also offers free parking. With plenty of tent events and indoor space, the Adirondack Harvest Festival will go on rain or shine.
The Adirondack Harvest Festival places a strong emphasis on locally grown food and products. This event is dedicated to championing and boosting the Adirondacks’ local farmers and businesses that utilize locally sourced components.

Through this festival, attendees can immerse themselves in the diverse offerings from the region's rich agricultural landscape.
Organizers are planning an incredible day of family-friendly fun activities and features, including:
Delicious local food and libations
Live music
Farm animal petting zoo
Wagon & pony rides
Food trucks
Farmers’ market
Live events on the bandstand.
The Adirondack Harvest Festival features an array of live entertainment. The Gaslight Tinkers will appear from Noon to 1:30 pm, performing their blend of global rhythms, creating a joyously danceable sound around a core of traditional New England old-time and Celtic fiddle music, merging boundless positive energy with melody and song.

Don’t miss the always popular Kids’ Potato Sack Race from 1:30 to 1:45 pm. The competition continues at 3:15 with a Hula Hoop Contest. A $50 value prize will be given to the longest hula’ing adult, and $25 value prize for the longest hula’ing youth.
Danny Lipsitz & the Brass Tacks take the stage at 1:45. Danny is one of the most sought-after bandleaders, musicians, and entertainers in New York City. He eads his swing, jump blues, klezmer, and early rock ‘n’ roll band, The Brass Tacks, in captivating, feel-good music for people from all walks of life.
Wrap up the day with music by Ploughman’s Lunch, a “Dirty Folk Jam Band” of local farmers and friends. A self-described “Adirondack anything” band. Ploughman’s Lunch is an annual favorite at the Adirondack Harvest Festival and always inspires a little dancing in the crowd!
Hands-on workshops.
This year’s festival includes several informative workshops. Register now to participate in:
12:30-1:15 PM – Making Seed Paper. Kathy Linker, Master Gardener Volunteer.
1:30-2:15 PM – Grow Your Own Microgreens. Andy Sugar, Skyward Microgreens.
2:30-3:15 PM – Growing Wild Rice in Essex County. Herb Longware, Master Gardener Volunteer.
3:30-4:15 PM – From Milling Grain to Cooking It! Chef Robert Dumas, Paul Smiths College.
Participation in hands-on workshops is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and registration must be completed prior to attendance. These workshops are geared toward adults, but interested kids and teens are welcome to participate with adult supervision. Observing a workshop is free of charge, but participation in the hands-on activity incurs a cost.

Seed Mosaic
Brought to you by Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Farm to School and 4-H programs, kids can enjoy these free events throughout the day.
Activities with a take-home product include grain milling, making seed mosaics, garden in a Glove, and crafting seed balls
Other planned activities are seed sensory bins and play area, seed match game, a giant mural and a story walk.
All activities in the Young Farmers’ Circle are free of charge. Please remember that all kids need to be supervised by an adult in this area.
