Winter in Lake George Village shines a little brighter when the Fire & Ice Bar returns to the Fort William Henry Hotel. Kicking off its first weekend on January 23 and 24, the Polar Ice Bar transforms the hotel’s Lakeside Restaurant & Lounge into a high-energy winter playground that blends icy artistry with Adirondack warmth.

This two-weekend celebration has become one of the most anticipated winter events in the Adirondacks, drawing locals and visitors alike for its signature mix of ice sculptures, roaring firepits, live music, and handcrafted cocktails. Weekend one sets the tone, delivering a festive atmosphere that feels equal parts après-ski party and classic Lake George winter tradition.

Ice sculptures meet fireside vibes.

The centerpiece of the Polar Ice Bar experience is its impressive display of hand-carved ice sculptures. These shimmering works of art anchor both the indoor and outdoor spaces, offering plenty of photo-worthy moments throughout the day and into the evening. Step outside to warm up by crackling firepits, then head back indoors where the party continues inside the Lakeside Restaurant & Lounge.

Specialty cocktails and seasonal drinks flow all weekend long, designed to pair perfectly with the chilly setting. Add in crave-worthy bites and bar favorites, and the Fire & Ice Bar becomes an easy place to linger—whether stopping by for an hour or settling in for the afternoon.

Live music keeps the energy high.

Live music plays a starring role during the opening weekend, giving the event its signature buzz. Expect upbeat sets that encourage dancing, mingling, and soaking up the lively winter atmosphere. The combination of music, firelight, and ice creates a setting that feels distinctly Lake George—bold, welcoming, and unapologetically fun.

Friday hours run from 4 to 10 pm, making it an ideal après-outdoor-adventure stop. Saturdays open earlier at 1 pm and continue through 10 pm, perfect for pairing with ice skating, winter hikes, or a stroll through the village.

Event details, updates, and any weather-related notes can be found on the Fort William Henry Hotel’s website and Facebook page. As with many popular Adirondack winter events, arriving early is a smart move.

Can’t make it this weekend? The Polar Ice Bar will also be open January 30 and 31, 2026.
