Celebrate the Harvest Season on an Adirondack Canal

Historic Fort Edward heralds fall in the southern Adirondacks.

Locktoberfest is a vibrant celebration of the harvest season, set against the picturesque backdrop of New York State’s scenic canals. Fort Edward’s Canal Street Marketplace transforms into a lively hub, showcasing the finest local products, all set in this charming historic canal town.

The event promises a festive day filled with mouthwatering food, refreshing drinks, and fun for the entire family. As the community embraces the unique heritage of this southern Adirondack region, children are welcomed to partake in a variety of free, engaging activities designed to spark their creativity and curiosity.

Throughout the day, the air resonates with live music, providing an uplifting soundtrack as visitors savor the rich flavors of fall, sourced from local farms and served by a range of food trucks.

For those looking to relax and sample something unique, a craft beer tasting tent offers a delightful array of brews. Come and immerse yourself in a day of joy, flavor, and community spirit at Locktoberfest!

At noon, High Peaks Bluegrass Band takes the stage, followed by Seize Atlantis at 1:45 pm. The Dambreakers appear at 3:30 pm.

Locktoberfest is funded in part with support from the NYS Canal Corporation and the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor.

The event is also made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts Statewide Community Regrant Program, administered locally by the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council, with the support of the office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
