When winter settles into Lake George Village, one event consistently rises to the top of February must-dos: the Ice Bar at The Lagoon.

Kicking off on January 31 and running every weekend through February, this lively outdoor gathering delivers one of the most reliable and festive winter experiences in the Adirondacks—no tickets required.

The Lagoon hosts the only ice bar in Lake George Village that operates every weekend throughout February, perfectly timed with the Lake George Winter Carnival. The result feels less like a novelty and more like a seasonal tradition locals and visitors plan around year after year.

Ice cheers at The Lagoon.

The Lagoon transforms its waterfront space into a winter playground built for lingering. Ice sculptures frame the bar, fire pits glow throughout the day, and DJs keep the energy high from noon through early evening.

Specialty cocktails and hot food make it easy to stay warm, while games and open space keep families and groups entertained.

The Ice Bar runs every Saturday in February from 12:00–7:00 pm, aligning seamlessly with Winter Carnival activities happening throughout the village. Guests can enjoy music, drinks, and food before transitioning straight into one of Lake George’s most iconic winter spectacles: fireworks over the frozen lake.

Fireworks, cook-offs, and Winter Carnival energy.

Each Saturday night at 7:00 pm, Winter Carnival fireworks light up Lake George, and The Lagoon offers one of the best vantage points in the village. Visitors often arrive early, settle in with a drink by the fire, and make an afternoon-to-evening event of it.

The Lagoon also serves as a home base for the Winter Carnival cook-offs, adding another layer of excitement and flavor to the ice bar experience. Between chili competitions, crowd energy, and DJ sets, there’s always something happening—making this a smart pick for anyone traveling with a mixed-age group or non-skiers looking for a classic Adirondack winter scene.
