2025 Adirondack Fire Towers Light the Night

The NYS Chapter of the Forest Fire Lookout Association (NYSFFLA) sponsors the 12th Annual Lighting of the Fire Towers Event in New York State. This spectacular event occurs on Saturday, August 30, at 8:30 pm and includes multiple Adirondack Fire Towers. Rain date is Sunday, August 31.
Honoring forest rangers who safeguarded the Adirondacks.
The event honors the men and women who worked in historic fire towers, safeguarding homes, businesses, communities, and surrounding forests.
The Fire Tower Lighting brings a glow to the horizon, inviting observers to reflect on an era when fire rangers diligently operated these towers to protect both the community and the land.
This year, numerous fire towers in the Adirondacks will once again participate in the annual synchronized illumination of these iconic structures.
A group of dedicated volunteers will light up the fire towers on the evening of Saturday, August 30, between 8:00 and 9:30 pm.
In celebration of the tenth anniversary of this meaningful tradition, a reading of the names of those who once served in the towers will accompany the illumination ceremony.
