Relive History: Surrenday Day Event at Fort William Henry

History enthusiasts will assemble to honor the pivotal Surrender of Fort William Henry in the picturesque Lake George Village on August 9, 2025.

This event marks the anniversary of the Fort’s capitulation, which followed a grueling siege by French forces that began on August 3rd, 1757. As tensions mounted and supplies dwindled, General Munro and his British troops were ultimately compelled to surrender the Fort on that fateful day.

The commemoration will include a poignant reading of the terms of surrender, complemented by a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the military cemetery, where we will reflect on the sacrifices made during this historic conflict.
