The summer of 2024 marks the 30th Anniversary of trolley service in Lake George. The Trolley’s maiden voyage was Memorial Day weekend in 1994. The goal was to help ease traffic congestion and parking concerns. In its inaugural season, Greater Glens Falls Transit says it carried more than 24,000 customers. A Lake George tradition was born.
“There’s something for everyone in Lake George Village, whether it’s your first visit or if you’ve been returning for years as part of a family tradition, and CDTA will get you to your destination safely and efficiently.”
Now, 30 years later, the Lake George Trolley system is still going strong. Currently running on weekends, beginning in late June, CDTA will operate the Trolley seven days a week through Columbus/Indigenous Peoples’ Day. The Trolley runs from 8 am to 11 pm, every 20 to 30 minutes.

“This service has promoted sustainable tourism and supported the local economy by ensuring that both visitors and workers can move easily and efficiently throughout the area. The impact of the trolley service on our community is immeasurable, enhancing the overall experience of our region for everyone."

It’s important that we support the community by easing traffic congestion and parking needs, as well as providing businesses with a mobility option for their employees.”
"The Lake George Summer trolley is vital for both our guests and staff," said Laura Kohls, who owns several significant businesses in the Lake George Region. "We have relied on the trolley since it began in 1994.”
